About This Role

Coordinates total nursing care for patients, focusing on patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to maintain professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Document initial and ongoing patient assessment in a complete, concise, and timely manner according to policy and procedure
• Develop and modify effective, comprehensive, and individualized plan of care including discharge planning for assigned patients
• Apply knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served
• Initiate and coordinate patient teaching according to identified needs
• Integrate, delegate, and coordinate patient care using interdisciplinary approach
• Delegate responsibilities for care and make assignments according to skills of caregiver
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions according to established policy and procedure
• Demonstrate an ability to plan and supervise other patient caregivers in providing patient care on unit while functioning as a professional role model
• Demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment in times of need and emergency situations and evaluate the results of actions taken
• Administer medication and perform treatments, utilizing principles of aseptic technique to assigned patient

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of RN experience
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• MA RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred
• Minimum of one year of RN experience
