Staff Frontend Engineer

About This Role

This Staff Frontend Engineer will own the frontend architecture for Artisan's multi-product platform, setting the standard for UI development and delivering high-quality, data-dense interfaces for an AI-native sales stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a multi-product frontend architecture, component systems, routing, state management, and shared infrastructure for a unified platform experience
• Design and build real-time, data-dense interfaces capable of performantly rendering large datasets and updating in real time for thousands of leads and live AI activity
• Create and implement AI-native interaction patterns for AI transparency, human-in-the-loop controls, confidence indicators, and interleaved human/AI workflows
• Develop and maintain a design system and component library that ensures consistency, accelerates development, and scales across the product suite
• Ensure high performance and quality including fast initial loads, smooth interactions, minimal layout shift, and accessible markup
• Improve developer experience by building frontend tooling, patterns, and conventions, performing code reviews, providing mentorship, and contributing to documentation
• Collaborate directly with designers and product managers to shape features

Requirements

• 6+ years of frontend engineering experience
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and React, including understanding internals, tradeoffs, and scaling patterns
• Strong experience with state management, performance optimization, and rendering large datasets in the browser
• Experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries used across multiple product surfaces
• Strong eye for design quality, spacing, alignment, typography, and interaction polish
• Experience with real-time data (WebSockets, polling, optimistic updates) and complex form/table UIs
• Strong opinions on frontend architecture, testing strategy, and code organization, grounded in shipping production software
• Comfortable working directly with designers and product managers to shape features

Qualifications

• 6+ years of frontend engineering experience, with a track record of building complex, data-rich web applications

Nice to Have

• Experience building interfaces for AI products, conversational UIs, or agent-based systems
• Experience with accessibility standards and internationalization
• Startup experience defining frontend architecture from the ground up
