Staff Accountant

About This Role

This Staff Accountant will be crucial in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting various accounting functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions
• Prepare and file sales tax reports in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Generate and review distribution reports to support financial analysis and decision-making
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to manage financial data and processes
• Support cleanup and organization of financial records to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and other reports as needed

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting
• Strong understanding of general ledger and journal entries
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reconciliations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
