As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build scalable backend services and data systems for PayPal's global finance platform, enabling data-driven decision-making. The role involves technical leadership, guiding junior engineers, and delivering complete solutions across the SDLC.
Responsibilities
- Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Advise immediate management on project-level issues
- Guide junior engineers
- Operate with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on internal conventions and industry best practices
- Apply knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions
Requirements
- 5+ years of enterprise backend development experience
- Strong programming skills and expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring and Hibernate
- Proficiency in backend development with Python frameworks (Django, Flask, Pandas, NumPy)
- Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, Unit Testing and build tools
- Good understanding and hands on experience with databases such as MySQL/Oracle
- Strong understanding of web-based programming languages
- Rich object-oriented design and analysis skills
- Experience in refactoring existing code base and understanding existing implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 5+ years of enterprise backend development experience
