Sr. Payroll & Benefits Specialist

About This Role

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of biweekly payroll and benefits programs, as well as processing all leave of absence requests.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly basis for hourly and salary employees using UKG Ready
• Review and reconcile payroll registers prior to submission
• Administer and respond to garnishment notices and medical support withholding notices
• Maintain compliance with FLSA, state and federal laws
• Support employee fringe benefits programs (enrollment, plan changes, terminations)
• Assist in the open enrollment process
• Administer the company’s 401(k) and tuition reimbursement program
• Process and administer all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork
• Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
• Manage records such as timekeeping, salary history, and payroll data

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll and benefits administration
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and wage & hour laws
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, attention to detail, follow through and professional judgement
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll and benefits administration

Nice to Have

• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP)
• Experience with UKG Ready
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables)
