Sr. DevOps Engineer

About This Role

Lead and enhance software delivery pipelines, ensuring system reliability and improving service quality for the Workforce Benefits Division. Define and implement DevSecOps strategies, automate CI/CD, and optimize development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevSecOps strategy, best practices, and standards
• Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, testing, and monitoring
• Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce security best practices and ensure compliance
• Implement and maintain ITIL best practices to improve service delivery and incident management
• Foster collaboration between development, operations, and enterprise teams
• Diagnose and resolve issues in lower environments and production, contributing to root cause analysis
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of DevOps processes, standards, and procedures
• Continuously evaluate and improve service delivery, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency gains
• Manage relationships with DevOps-related vendors and third-party service providers

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role
• Experience with Mulesoft (Data Integration team)
• Experience with automated software build, test, and deployment
• Experience with agile (e.g. SAFe Agile) and DevOps concepts & methodologies
• Experience with AI/MLOps infrastructure enablement
• Strong Expertise with networking, port & server configurations, AWS tagging, and scaling
• Service Management experience (i.e. Incident, Release)
• Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, Terraform, Python, and IaC
• Strong expertise in AWS environments
• Proficiency with DevOps tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible)
• Advanced knowledge of ADO, JIRA, and a CI/CD framework
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (e.g. Grafana, Splunk)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 8+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role

Nice to Have

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
• Proven experience leading and influencing technical teams
• Knowledge of ITIL framework primarily in Service Transition and Service Operations
• Experience in the workforce (group) benefits and/or insurance and/or financial industries
