Speech Language Pathologist

About This Role

Conduct comprehensive evaluations, implement evidence-based therapies, and manage documentation for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders in a retirement community setting. Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide quality patient care and support residents and their families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations
• Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results
• Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement
• Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
• Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed

Requirements

• Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution
• Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, or license eligible
• Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP)
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications
