Specialty Team Member

About This Role

As a Specialty Team Member, you will support the Beer, Wine, Cheese & Chocolate department by maintaining product displays and selling products, ensuring a positive customer experience, and adhering to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare product for the Specialty department
• Maintain the Specialty floor and displays to ensure they are clean and well-stocked
• Sell products in support of the regional Specialty vision
• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members
• Engage in positive and proactive selling
• Check product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards
• Monitor spoilage and supply waste to minimize impact on department expenses
• Assist with sampling programs, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing
• Maintain back stock in good order
• Ensure temperature, sanitation, and sweep logs are completed

Requirements

• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all department products
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
• Ability to sell proactively
• Working understanding of Specialty department, team, and WFM quality goals
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong to excellent communication skills
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards
• Ability to follow directions and procedures
• Effective time management and organization skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required
