Conduct insurance investigations related to regulatory compliance and criminal activities, enforcing California and Federal laws. Exercise limited peace officer powers, including arrests and search warrant execution, after completing the required training.
Responsibilities
- Perform insurance investigations relating to regulatory compliance and/or criminal investigations
- Enforce California and Federal laws related to the transaction of insurance
- Exercise limited peace officer powers, such as arrests and the execution of search warrants (upon completion of Penal Code 832-Arrest course)
- Make or participate in governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests
- Complete a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700)
Requirements
- Experience in Investigation techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of rules of evidence and court procedures
- Knowledge of laws of arrest, search and seizure
- Knowledge of legal rights of citizens
- Knowledge of service of legal process
