Special Events Assistant

About This Role

Support the Development team in a hands-on, hospitality-focused role, enhancing donor and patron experience at special events and performances. This position contributes to the overall success of Barrington Stage Company's events and outreach programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, host, and break down the Patron Lounge during performances
• Greet and engage donors, board members, and VIP patrons in a warm, professional manner
• Assist with light food and beverage service pre-show and/or during intermission
• Ensure the Patron Lounge is clean, organized, and welcoming before and after each performance
• Assist with set-up, execution, and strike for special events, including donor parties, receptions, and gala support
• Provide on-site support at dinners, parties, and donor gatherings
• Assist with event clean-up and post-event wrap-up
• Assist with and direct VIP donor parking on select performance and event nights
• Help manage arrival flow and answer patron questions as needed

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for event set-up and strike
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, public-facing environment
• Friendly, upbeat, and professional demeanor
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Able to take direction, problem-solve, and adapt as needs arise
• Comfortable engaging with donors and patrons of all backgrounds
