Special Assets Portfolio Manager III

About This Role

This role manages a portfolio of 15-20 commercial loan workout relationships, providing comprehensive support to existing borrowers. The manager will leverage prior analytical and commercial loan experience to ensure effective credit risk management and assist with various financial analyses.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between Special Asset Officer and other Bank departments for facilitating modifications, extensions, and covenant testing.
• Perform annual reviews for client relationships within the assigned special asset portfolio.
• Attend client calls with Special Asset Officers to understand the client’s business and assist in ongoing credit risk management.
• Provide constructive and regular feedback to Special Asset Officers to ensure sound relationship quality.
• Conduct site visits and document vacancy/occupancy and general property conditions via notes and photographs.
• Monitor credit performance of client portfolios and alert Special Asset Officers to changes requiring action for risk mitigation.
• Facilitate the collection and spreading of financial statements and analyze collateral quality.
• Monitor line usage and supporting documents (accounts receivable/payable aging reports, inventory reports) for concentration risk.
• Prepare Criticized Asset Reports and periodic credit file memos, and resolve documented exceptions.
• Assist in the assignment of appropriate and timely risk ratings on existing borrowers and defend assigned risk ratings.
• Provide guidance and oversight to Special Asset Portfolio Manager I or II.
• Be involved with the development of Special Asset Department procedures and methodologies.
