About This Role

This Part-time Sortation role at Fastenal's distribution center in Indianapolis involves organizing, packing, and preparing outgoing product orders for shipping. The position helps facilitate the movement of goods to company-owned branches while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Organize shipments into correct containers
• Pack product in layers to ensure stability and efficient space usage
• Identify fragile product and process accordingly
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Comply with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participate in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learn, pass, and practice various environmental health and safety trainings

Requirements

• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
• Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Ability to pass the required drug screen
