Solution Architect

About This Role

This Solution Architect role involves a tight dialogue with stakeholders, teammates, and management, making recommendations based on application design, best practices, performance criteria, security and cost management. You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the development team, translating customer requirements into detailed designs and enforcing consistent development standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage in dialogue with stakeholders, teammates, and management to make recommendations based on application design, best practices, performance, security, and cost management.
• Collaborate with global teams and external parties with a One Community mindset.
• Translate customer requirements and high-level architecture into detailed designs.
• Help establish and enforce consistent use of development standards, design models, and code reuse.
• Work with Product Owners and Digital Product Managers to break down tasks and provide estimates.
• Work with Enterprise Architect to develop clear program specifications for developers and testers.
• Assure application runtime environments stay current on supported software.
• Develop mitigation plans to assure steady state of customer business systems.
• Help assure system and technical solutions are made part of the long-term strategic development plan.
• Ensure secure design of AWS environments and promote Agile and DevOps practices with developers.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills and time management
• 8+ years of systems/software design experience
• 5+ years programming experience with C#, .Net, .Net Core, and Python
• 3+ years SQL programming experience
• 3+ years delivering solutions as a member of an Agile team
• Knowledge of AWS, DevOps, Serverless Streaming technologies (Dockers, Kinesis, Lambdas, Event, Bridge, etc.)
• Experience with XML, JSON, Windows services, IIS, Oracle database, Linux, Postgres, DynamoDB
• Knowledge of networks and AWS infrastructure
• Ability to work in a team environment, manage multiple clients, and provide consultative skills throughout the process

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems/software design experience and 5+ years programming experience with C#, .Net, .Net Core, and Python.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of TypeScript, cloud formation template, AWS CDK
• Knowledge of performance optimization
• Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
• Telematics experience
