SFC-IT Consultant 3 (ITC3)

About This Role

This role involves supporting a major application modernization initiative for a public-sector client, transforming a legacy Perl/MySQL system into a modern, cloud-based application using Java, React, MariaDB, and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design and define system architecture in collaboration with the OFCC Development Lead
• Lead and mentor development teams, providing technical direction and best practices
• Drive modernization efforts from legacy platforms to modern Java and cloud technologies
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Lead code reviews and ensure high code quality and architectural standards
• Troubleshoot complex issues and optimize system performance and scalability
• Create and maintain architecture and technical documentation
• Use AI-enabled tools to support application development and testing

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT and enterprise application development
• Strong experience architecting and designing Java applications on AWS
• Proven background in application modernization projects
• Experience supporting large, mission-critical systems, ideally in the public sector
• Ability to communicate clearly on project status, features, and backlog
• Familiarity with React, MariaDB, and cloud-native design principles
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in IT and enterprise application development
