The Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the maintenance and operation of utility-scale PV power plants, including supervised monitoring through SCADA and performing commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC solar PV systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest level of health and safety practices and strict adherence to company protocols
- Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures
- Monitor PV Plant operation through SCADA under supervision
- Perform commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC solar PV systems
- Utilize CMMS systems for maintenance tracking
- Perform various preventative and corrective maintenance work on all site components under supervision
- Keep track of quality, quantity, and stock levels of all materials on the sites
- Maintain the Plant’s vegetation requirements, by use of mechanical and/or chemical methods
- Communicate cross-functionally across the organization to resolve plant issues
- Maintain work area and site housecleaning to company standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution
- Demonstrated understanding of power plant, EH&S compliance, operations, and maintenance
- Safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Valid U.S. Driver license with acceptable MVR history
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. College or technical degree preferred.
- One (1) year of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution.

- Electrical certifications (state, journeyman, etc.)
- Technical knowledge of PV Inverters and tracking systems
