Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician I

About This Role

This role is responsible for the maintenance and operation of utility-scale PV power plants, ensuring safe and reliable energy generation. It involves monitoring PV plant operations, troubleshooting, and repairing various AC and DC solar PV systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest level of health and safety practices, including adherence to company protocols and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures
• Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas
• Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures
• Utilize CMMS systems for maintenance tracking
• Under supervision, perform testing using IV Curve Tracers, Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other equipment
• With supervision, be responsible for various preventative and corrective maintenance work
• Keep track of quality, quantity, and stock levels of all materials on the sites
• Ensure all documentation and required reports are reviewed, complete, submitted and filed
• Maintain the Plant's vegetation requirements, by use of mechanical and or chemical in accordance with site regulations
• Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution
• Demonstrated understanding of power plant, EH&S compliance, operations, and maintenance
• Safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Valid U.S. Driver license with acceptable MVR history
• Full-time authorization to work in the United States

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. College or technical degree preferred.
• 1 year of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution.
