This role supports the implementation of the WA Cares Fund, a groundbreaking long-term care insurance program in Washington State, by providing consultation, training, and technical assistance to staff and partners. The Social and Health Program Consultant ensures consistent application of policies and procedures, helping qualified individuals access their earned benefits.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation, interpretation, training, and technical assistance on WA Cares Fund policies, procedures, and program requirements to regional staff and partners
- Develop, update, and maintain training materials, guidance documents, workflows, and job aids to support consistent program application
- Coordinate and facilitate training activities, including group sessions and individual support, and monitor training effectiveness
- Conduct quality assurance and compliance monitoring activities to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Review data, reports, and program information to support analysis, documentation, and informed recommendations
- Serve as a liaison between regional offices, headquarters staff, and cross-agency partners to support alignment and information sharing
- Participate in statewide committees and workgroups by contributing policy input, planning support, and coordination
- Collaborate with community providers and advocacy partners to support understanding of program expectations and service delivery processes
- Attend agency meetings, promote outreach, and travel as necessary
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work*, a health or social science, public administration or a related field AND four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs
- OR a bachelor’s degree in social work*, a health or social science, public administration or a related field AND five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs
- OR a combination of professional/practical hands-on experience of nine to ten years, in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs
- OR one year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent
- OR two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field
- Four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs with a Master's degree OR five years with a Bachelor's degree OR one year as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 OR two years as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 OR 9-10 years of professional/practical hands-on experience in program planning, administration, development, or delivery.
