Shipping Clerk

About This Role

Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders by comparing identifying information with relevant documents. Utilize various handling equipment to move materials and resolve routine shipping questions and problems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload product correctly using appropriate handling techniques and record necessary data
• Verify the driver, trailer, and bills are specific to the carrier and location
• Review freight with the driver and ensure all customer requirements are followed
• Report any shortages/overages or damaged items to management promptly
• Perform duties such as removing, cleaning, or repackaging product once received into the system
• Prepare product correctly (labeled, over-packed, palletized, shrink-wrapped, stacked appropriately, etc.)
• Maintain accurate inventory records
• Process shipments with FedEx, UPS, or other logistics companies

Requirements

• High school or GED
• High Level verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to operate lift equipment
• High school level math skills
• Ability to operate lift equipment

Qualifications

• High school or GED
• Relevant experience in shipping required in lieu of diploma

Nice to Have

• 1 year with UPS/Fed Ex/International shipping and receiving experience
• Proficiency with MS Office
