About This Role

This Shipper role involves performing various material movement duties including basic operation of computer systems, categorizing freight, and shipping company products and materials. The position ensures accurate and timely dispatch of shipments and helps maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Responsibilities

• Work from computer systems procedures, purchase orders, written and/or verbal instructions, established shipping procedures, methods, and practices
• Count, weigh, and check outgoing shipments
• Report shortages, damage or obvious defects to supervisor
• Package, strap, weigh, and label shipments
• Load trucks or containers (floor load or forklift) based on preferred method to be determined by management
• Operate internal computer system to determine status of products and track products
• Maintain records as instructed
• Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision
• Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition
• Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in shipping
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions
• Forklift certified or ability to pass certification exam during initial trial period

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years experience in shipping
