Senior/Principal Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer, Content Safety

About This Role

Design, build, and maintain end-to-end machine learning systems to detect and remediate problematic or abusive content on Roblox in real time. This role will involve technical leadership, defining roadmaps, establishing architecture, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end machine learning systems for content detection and remediation in real time
• Innovate on detection strategies using data-driven approaches to identify emerging threats
• Shape the team’s technical vision by defining the roadmap, establishing foundational architecture, and driving execution milestones
• Mentor and support junior engineers, setting technical standards and fostering a culture of collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver impactful, community-focused solutions
• Set technical strategy and oversee development of high scale, high throughput, and reliable infrastructure systems for large-scale, real-time inference
• Analyze and optimize performance bottlenecks across the inference stack, from model to infrastructure
• Stay abreast of industry trends in machine learning and infrastructure to adopt leading-edge technologies and practices

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying large-scale machine learning systems in production environments
• Proven ability to develop robust, scalable solutions for complex, ambiguous safety challenges
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying large-scale machine learning systems in production environments

• Experience working across modalities such as text, images, or 3D data
