About This Role

The Senior Security Manager is responsible for the strategy, governance, and oversight of internal investigations, threat assessment, workplace violence prevention, background screening, and access control. This role ensures sensitive matters are handled with integrity and strengthens employee safety and organizational trust. The manager will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to executive leadership, partnering with HR, Legal, and Corporate Security to manage critical incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for internal investigations, threat assessments, and workplace violence prevention.
  • Provide strategic oversight of background screening and access control, ensuring operational support and timely modifications.
  • Continuously enhance access control and background screening technology and processes to align with risk environment and operations.
  • Integrate investigation, screening, access, and threat assessment to proactively identify insider risk and facilitate rapid response.
  • Lead and govern complex and sensitive internal investigations, overseeing high-risk or executive-level matters personally and confidentially.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and various departments to implement threat mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain close partnerships with law enforcement and public sector entities, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage budgets and labor resources, prioritizing based on business need and risk exposure while aligning team initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Direct response to credible threats and critical incidents, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency response partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the security team, setting clear expectations and building depth of capability and succession readiness.
  • Ensure post-incident reviews and continuous improvement of prevention and response protocols.
  • Plan and conduct security assessments, audits, and intelligence activities to improve security posture and inform operational and capital decisions.
  • Provide guidance and leadership for leveraging the entire spectrum of security technologies, including establishing requirements, solution design, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in security or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to act independently in complex security environments
  • Ability to drive results across property in alignment with site goals
  • US Secret Security clearance eligible
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving/critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and executive presence with the ability to influence across functions
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling and maintaining sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to identify risk and threat concerns, design and implement mitigation strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in security or related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with intelligence collection and assessment
  • Familiarity with Executive Protection
  • Prior experience interacting with law enforcement agencies and navigating legal processes
