Senior Scientist, Grocery Consumer

About This Role

Design and implement data-driven solutions to enhance grocery content curation and presentation within Uber's merchandising team. Optimize initiatives for scalability and performance leveraging rigorous experimentation and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data-driven solutions to curate and present grocery content
• Devise ways to incentivize customers for product imagery
• Invent innovative new offer types to elevate the grocery experience
• Leverage rigorous experimentation and analytics to optimize initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure merchandising strategies deliver measurable impact

Requirements

• Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields
• Minimum 4 years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent (2+ years if holding a Ph.D.)
• R or Python coding and ability to develop statistical analysis and algorithm prototyping
• Ability to design experiments, interpret results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions
• Solid theoretical and applied causal inference skills, experience applying them in a practical industry setting

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields
• Minimum 4 years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent (2+ years if holding a Ph.D.)
