Coordinate comprehensive patient care delivery within the Neuroscience Acute Care Unit, leveraging the Parkland nursing professional practice model. Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to ensure high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care delivery by the healthcare team using the Parkland nursing professional practice model
- Assess the patient and identify nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems
- Develop and implement an individualized plan of care and evaluate the patient's response
- Utilize knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter
- Delegate interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act and patient conditions
- Provide care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act and established protocols
- Provide continuous assessment, consult with other team members, and provide patient-centered nursing care
- Exercise independent judgment in providing nursing care and demonstrate effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Provide direction to non-nursing staff, serve as a preceptor, and serve on rotation as a Charge Nurse
- Maintain and implement knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines impacting nursing practice
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- 2 years of nursing experience
- Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license
- Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- 2+ years of nursing experience; preferred experience in an acute care setting

Certifications
Healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network)
