Lead Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) support services for enhancements to a client healthcare program, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with healthcare regulations. Implement project management best practices and strengthen portfolio management frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Deliver centralized project management capabilities to oversee and strategically manage changes, risks, and issues across client IT and non-IT project portfolios
- Facilitate alignment between strategic initiatives and project execution to ensure department-wide consistency and visibility
- Develop enterprise-wide project management processes and workflows
- Create project fiscal estimation models to guide budget planning and resource allocation
- Design comprehensive Project Manager Toolkits to support day-to-day execution
- Implement the client-specific Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC)
- Formalize the EPMO organizational structure and develop processes and standards to support a Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE)
- Provide expert support and guidance on the Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) and implement a standardized project intake process
- Enhance client document review and approval workflows and develop project resource estimation models
- Provide strategic support to build internal project management capabilities within the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) workforce
Requirements
- 7+ years applying Project Management principles, methods, techniques, and tools
- 4+ years as a senior Project Manager on large or complex IT projects
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- 7+ years of broad, extensive and increasingly responsible experience applying Project Management principles, methods, techniques, and tools, with at least 4 years as a senior PM of one or more large or complex IT projects.
Nice to Have
- 1-5 years experience centralizing project management services for executive leadership
- 1-5 years advancing project management discipline within project teams
- 1-5 years helping an EPMO build and mature project portfolio management methodology
- 1-5 years experience working with the California Department of Technology’s Project Approval Lifecycle (CDT-PAL) process
- 1-5 years experience working on federally funded IT or non-IT projects for the state
