Senior Principal Engineer, Fabric/Cloud

About This Role

Lead the strategy and execution for the Menace Fabric, a foundational compute offering within the Menace Platform, designed for tactical edge environments. Drive product definition, scalability, and long-term engineering vision for this critical system supporting connected warfare applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end efforts for developing Menace Fabric, driving strategy, execution, and product definition
• Define technical vision and develop product roadmaps across Connected Warfare, considering design choices, performance, schedule, costs, and risk
• Coordinate development of prototypes and early releases for customer and internal business lines
• Manage detailed architecture and stack design balancing customer requirements, product vision, and speed to market
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment and adequate resource planning
• Enable remote sustainment of solutions at scale

Requirements

• Bachelor’s of Science, Masters or PhD in an engineering or natural sciences field
• Deep, hands-on expertise in designing, building, and owning the architecture of distributed systems
• Proven experience running large-scale production systems with high availability and performance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to make architecture and tradeoff decisions across security, latency, and extensibility
• Deep familiarity with cloud-native architectures, including containerization, orchestration and managed infrastructure services
• Experience in a senior role leading programs from initial concept through test and delivery to customers
• Experience creating teams and focusing them around a common vision

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science, Masters or PhD in an engineering or natural sciences field
• 5+ years, proven experience running large-scale production systems with high availability and performance requirements, experience in a senior role leading programs from initial concept through test and delivery to customers

Nice to Have

• Direct experience deploying and operating distributed systems on major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and/or GCP
