Senior Piping Designer

About This Role

This role involves providing technical design expertise for advanced industrial projects, guiding design teams, and ensuring compliance with quality, scope, cost, and schedule baselines. It requires developing and reviewing 3D layouts, schematics, and detailed piping designs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Designer, mentoring and supervising design teams
• Develop and review advanced 3D layouts, schematics, and detailed piping designs using 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools
• Coordinate technical issues with multiple disciplines, project management, vendors, and subcontractors
• Perform bulk material take-off analyses and support procurement activities
• Address construction administration tasks including responses to field changes and requests for information

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Associate degree in a related technical field with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D CADD design, specifically using Bentley MicroStation and Intergraph Smart3D
• Solid working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards
• Advanced understanding of discipline codes, quality plans, and EPC project execution

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical field
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with Smart Plant3D or SP3D
• Practical field experience with EPC projects in heavy industrial sectors
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and vendor documentation
