As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead engineering and design for HVAC, industrial piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems, primarily focusing on chemical, power, and industrial facilities. You will apply your expertise to develop innovative and technically sound designs, collaborating with diverse teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform design and engineering work across mechanical disciplines, with a focus on HVAC, industrial piping, plumbing, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and mechanical details
- Develop conceptual designs and cost estimates for project's early stages
- Create design drawings using Revit 3D design software
- Assess and design building ventilation systems for heat removal and indoor air quality in industrial spaces
- Utilize building modeling software to determine envelope heat gains/losses for HVAC equipment sizing
- Specify mechanical equipment
- Design plumbing and building utility piping systems
- Summarize engineering results in cohesive written reports and presentations
- Visit job sites for projects involving upfit of existing systems
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or greater
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and design of HVAC systems
- Experience designing large scale hydronic systems
- Working knowledge of fire protection requirements for industrial facilities, including IFC, NFPA standards and FM Global guidelines
- Desire to work in chemical, power, and industrial market segment
- Ability to work at industrial facilities gathering data for designs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced work environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or greater
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and design of HVAC systems
