Senior Mechanical Engineer

About This Role

This Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the overall mechanical design on projects, collaborating and directing other mechanical staff. The role involves coordinating design efforts internally and externally, fostering client relationships, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with company standards
• Advise and mentor staff to help in their growth
• Monitor project status and development to meet project deadlines
• Coordinate the completion of documents to allow for QA/QC review prior to deadlines
• Coordinate staffing manpower needs weekly with the Project Manager
• Assist in interviewing and providing feedback of possible future personnel
• Attend and participate in at least 10 hours of company continuing education, including teaching topics of expertise
• Review the mechanical budget hours and coordinate any recommended adjustments with the Project Manager
• Work with the Project Manager to manage manpower needs/timing and monitor the mechanical budget

Requirements

• Registered Professional Engineer
• Approximately 10 years of experience
• Experience specific in healthcare, education, commercial, federal, and light industrial sectors
• Ability to meet and socialize with clients to foster future repeat work
• Ability to work well and communicate with other disciplines within the firm and other consultants
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of experience, specific in healthcare, education, commercial, federal, and light industrial sectors
