The Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Virtual Service Operations will design, manage, and optimize storage platforms and SAN fabric. This role involves leading root cause analysis, architecture validation, and escalating issues from lower tiers, while mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and optimize SAN arrays and storage systems (NetApp, Pure, Infinidat, Nimble, VSAN)
- Architect and troubleshoot LUNs, datastores, replication, deduplication, snapshots, and DR failover processes
- Lead firmware/OS upgrades for SAN, compute hosts, and backup appliances
- Own Avamar/Data Domain environment health, capacity, replication, and restore performance
- Act as final escalation for server, virtualization, and cloud platform incidents
- Coordinate and validate vendor escalations and hardware replacements
- Create complex runbooks (disaster recovery, storage provisioning, backup retention policies)
- Participate in environment baselining, service health reviews, and performance analytics
- Lead root-cause analysis and produce technical reports
- Mentor L1/L2 engineers
Requirements
- 7-9 years of relevant, professional experience
- Proficient with NetApp
- Proficient with Pure storage
- Proficient with Infinidat & Nimble
- Proficient with VMware VSAN
- Proficient with Ansible
- U.S. citizenship status
