Serve as an Infection Prevention Expert, working autonomously and mentoring other infection preventionists. Implement and ensure compliance with infection prevention policies and processes at various organizational levels, providing consultative services to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care.
Responsibilities
- Work autonomously as an Infection Prevention Expert
- Mentor other infection preventionists
- Implement and ensure compliance with infection prevention policies, practices, and processes at facility, region, division, and system levels
- Collaborate with IP leadership, medical director, and peers to follow current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations
- Provide infection prevention consultative services focused on high-quality care at the lowest cost to patients and the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- National Certified in Infection Control (CBIC) upon hire
- 5 years Healthcare experience
- 5 years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- 5 years Healthcare experience and 5 years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) within 2 years of hire
- Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP) within 2 years of hire
- 10 or more years Healthcare experience
- 10 or more years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
