About This Role

The Senior Field Technician, Air Quality and Emissions, will direct and execute complex source testing projects across various industrial sectors. This role combines hands-on fieldwork with leadership and client-facing responsibilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project team and perform on-site stack testing and source emissions monitoring in accordance with federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC)
  • Plan and manage assigned field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and safety procedures
  • Analyze collected data and ensure QA/QC protocols are strictly followed throughout testing and reporting processes
  • Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings
  • Train, mentor, and oversee junior field technicians and new team members on project assignments
  • Troubleshoot and maintain analytical and sampling skills equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership
  • Keep current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and field observations

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Air Quality field
  • Strong computer and analytical technical "hands-on" skills
  • Aptitude for practical problem-solving
  • Field/site experience
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in the Air Quality field

Nice to Have

  • Ambient monitoring experience
