Air Emission Monitoring Specialist

About This Role

Direct and execute complex air emission monitoring projects, combining hands-on fieldwork with leadership and client-facing responsibilities to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist in business development initiatives
• Lead and perform on-site stack testing and source emissions monitoring in accordance with federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC)
• Plan and manage field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and safety procedures
• Analyze collected data and ensure QA/QC protocols are strictly followed throughout testing and reporting processes
• Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings
• Train, mentor, and supervise junior field technicians and new team members
• Troubleshoot and maintain analytical and sampling skills equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability
• Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership
• Keep current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices, proactively adapting procedures and technologies
• Prepare and QA/QC high-quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and field observations

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
• Minimum of 10-years experience working in the Air Quality field
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license
• Strong computer and analytical technical “hands-on” skills
• Field/site experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong people and team skills
• Highly motivated
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision
• Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination, and consultation skills
• Willingness to travel, and work outdoors including working long hours, evenings, and weekends
• Ability to collect samples at locations that may require working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
• Minimum of 10-years experience working in the Air Quality field
