APTIM is seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, and integrate manufactured equipment, primarily focusing on Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley PLC systems. This role involves developing control solutions, managing technical projects, and ensuring adherence to engineering codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee programming, design, refinement, and integration of manufactured equipment
- Develop and document new PLC control and monitoring systems from concept to qualification
- Maintain configuration/version control of PLC source code
- Design, install, maintain, and modify PLC systems
- Develop control solutions with the engineering team to enhance process performance
- Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues
- Establish scope, schedules, and cost controls for projects
- Manage mid-sized technical projects and serve as technical manager
- Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards, and company policies and procedures
- Conduct prestart-up equipment tests (FAT and SAT) to validate installation
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in electrical controls
- Background in electrical engineering
- Experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley PLC programming products
- Familiarity with interpreting and developing P&IDs, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with electrical power distribution design, construction, codes, and standards
- Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- AutoCAD, Solidworks, and P&ID experience
- Ability to program/troubleshoot relays, contacts, transformers, VFD's, MCC's, chart recorders, motor starters, sensors, switches, HMI
- Work experience with Furnaces and/or Combustion systems
- Working knowledge of NFPA compliance
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical disciplines. Equivalent experience also considered.
- 10+ Years experience in electrical controls engineering
Nice to Have
- Professional Engineer Licensure
- Experience with construction/manufacturing
- Familiarity with GE PLCs
