Senior Editor/Proofreader

About This Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in all externally facing materials created by Snow Companies. The Senior Editor/Proofreader will develop and maintain brand-specific style sheets, write and maintain departmental processes, and mentor team members, all while focusing on the patient journey.

Responsibilities

• Uphold agency quality standards in servicing clients by developing in-depth knowledge of assigned product brands
• Develop and maintain brand-specific style sheets to be used by the editorial team
• Write, create, and maintain departmental processes and SOPs
• Attend project status and kick-off meetings when requested and assign projects to editorial team members
• Lead by example, assisting other members of the Creative Department as needed
• Review and edit stories and externally facing materials to ensure highest level of quality and accuracy
• Offer comments and make stylistic suggestions to improve the product
• Perform final quality control checks to ensure all edits have been captured
• Manage a variety of projects moving throughout the editing queue
• Mentor and train new editorial team members, fostering professional growth opportunities

Requirements

• Mastery of the English language and of the written word
• Strong eye for detail and accuracy (grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting)
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Propensity for tact and diplomacy when negotiating edits with writers
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to identify and define problems while applying effective problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
• 3-5 years of related experience and/or training preferred

• Fluency in a foreign language
• Passport may be necessary in some instances
