As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will architect, maintain, and scale Scribe's core cloud infrastructure on AWS to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement deployment strategies, optimize system performance, and drive capacity planning initiatives, directly influencing engineering team efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and optimize container orchestration for multiple environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring modularity and reusability
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software deployment
- Implement observability and monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Lead capacity planning efforts to support scaling and performance improvements
- Design and execute zero-downtime deployment strategies with automated rollback capabilities
- Manage network configurations, load balancing, and traffic routing for high availability
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability
- Develop automation scripts to streamline operational tasks and improve system efficiency
- Maintain security best practices, including firewall rules, origin shielding, and access controls
- Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshooting production incidents, and creating runbooks
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Deep expertise with AWS services including EKS, VPC, S3, RDS/Aurora, and Well-Architected framework
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes internals, cluster administration, and multi-environment management
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform, including module development and state management
- Production experience with CNCF projects such as Helm and Karpenter
- Hands-on experience developing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
- Proficiency with observability tools like Honeycomb, Sentry, and AWS CloudWatch
- Strong knowledge of zero-downtime deployment strategies and automated rollbacks
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing
- Experience managing asynchronous job processing systems and message queues at scale
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages
- Proven ability in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
