Senior DevOps Engineer

About This Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will engineer and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support mission applications. This role involves leading problem-solving efforts and delivering high-quality results within a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide application development-programming for projects and infrastructure support activities
• Design and develop enterprise applications in a Web environment
• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions
• Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency
• Analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team
• Manage websites including design, develop, deploy and maintain activities as well as perform testing and quality assurance of web sites and web applications

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in software development
• 5+ years of experience managing Kubernetes platforms such as Rancher or EKS, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting
• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD concepts and methodologies, including building and maintaining automated pipelines
• 5+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
• Proficiency with Agile Software Development methodologies
• Experience with user interface analysis, performance tuning, workload analysis, and downtime analysis
• Strong understanding of Linux systems administration and networking principles
• US Citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of professional experience in software development, including 5+ years managing Kubernetes platforms, 5+ years with CI/CD concepts, and 5+ years with automation tools.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Python and JavaScript software languages
• Familiarity with containerized software engineering practices and technologies
• Familiarity with agile software engineering methodologies
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with security scanning and vulnerability management tools
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Security+)
