About This Role

This role will lead the financial closing process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Wabtec policies, along with preparing accurate financial statements and maintaining robust internal controls. This person will also coordinate internal and external audits and manage financial risks at the Greenville, SC facility.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the finance team and lead the financial closing process
  • Ensure US GAAP and Wabtec policies compliance
  • Prepare accurate financial statements that reflect the company's financial position
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any findings promptly
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and manage financial risks effectively
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported
  • Perform and oversee regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience
  • Minimum of 4 years in accounting roles
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Experience with Oracle and/or BI tools
  • Familiarity with GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 4 years in accounting roles (e.g., staff accountant, cost accountant, or senior accountant)
