Senior Accounting Manager

About This Role

This Senior Accounting Manager will lead the monthly financial close process, prepare financial statements, and manage key accounting areas for Tradewind Aviation. The role ensures financial accuracy and compliance with GAAP while driving strong internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance
• Prepare financial statements, including costs, journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation
• Implement an accrual system for the close process
• Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial statements
• Prepare account analysis YOY
• Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting, including analysis, variance investigation, and monitoring for obsolescence
• Lead the annual physical inventory
• Document and access process improvement
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations monthly and resolve variances
• Manage accounting for non-core operating entities and financial statement preparation
• Create a strong control environment by working with finance and non-finance personnel
• Help upgrade overall department internal controls through process understanding, control identification, and solution implementation
• Review monthly account reconciliations and verify GAAP consistency
• Coordinate with external auditors for efficient reviews and audit process design
• Manage AP vendor approvals through Ramp to prevent fraud risk and ensure proper tax setup

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with strong understanding of US GAAP/Financial Accounting
• 7+ years of progressive Accounting experience
• Experience creating, implementing, managing, and monitoring effective internal controls
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• ERP experience
• Strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of progressive Accounting experience, preferably with some managerial experience

• Experience in public accounting
• ERP system implementations experience
• Current or aspiring CMA or CPA
