The Self Perform Estimator II will collaborate with operations and preconstruction teams to develop comprehensive take-offs, supporting project estimates and formal proposals for major construction projects. This role involves analyzing project results, building historical cost databases, and producing professional documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency in estimating processes.
Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings and site logistics plans
- Complete accurate on-screen take-offs for permanent and temporary scopes of work
- Interact with a variety of vendors for material and services quotes
- Support Project Operations teams with Change Management
- Analyze project results and develop strategies for future estimating improvement
- Build a historical cost database based on Project Types and geography
- Develop and track Project Estimates from Conceptual Phase through Construction Documents
- Produce Clarifications and Qualifications to support estimates and proposals
- Produce professional take-off documentation to support project deliverables
- Identify indirect costs and General Condition items within estimate
- Possess and apply knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor component
- Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Produce manpower estimates to coincide with material and equipment take-offs
- Establish estimating protocols to drive accuracy, consistency and efficiency
Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in estimating
- BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
- Site work software tools for take-offs
- Self-perform estimating background required (experience with take-offs and estimates for concrete work, masonry, carpentry, metal framing & drywall, acoustical ceilings, and specialties)
- Basic understanding of conceptual estimating
- Knowledge of Procore software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Understanding of Contract Document & Specifications
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 2-5 years of relevant experience, with a background in self-perform estimating of concrete, masonry, carpentry, drywall, and temporary services.
