The Construction Superintendent II supports project field operations by coordinating trade contractors and field activities. This role ensures work adheres to approved scope, safety requirements, quality standards, and schedule expectations, operating with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate assigned trade contractors and field activities to support adherence to approved schedules, budgets, and work plans
- Review and work in strict accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications for assigned scopes
- Monitor work in progress to ensure compliance with approved work plans and maintain accurate daily field reports, safety documentation, and records
- Support all field safety efforts by assisting with orientations, conducting observations and audits, and enforcing safety and quality control policies
- Attend and participate in project meetings as required to support coordination and communication
- Track production, labor hours, and productivity metrics for assigned scopes and report variances
- Support self-performance operations, workforce planning, and quantification of labor, materials, and equipment needs
- Assist with forecasting labor and material needs, cost-of-work tracking, material procurement, delivery coordination, and site logistics activities
- Establish and maintain credibility with Owners, trade contractors, unions, and field personnel
- Manage daily reporting, documentation, and cost tracking in finance and construction management software
- Assist in resolving jurisdictional disputes and field-level issues within assigned scopes
- Implement and support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives within assigned scopes
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a superintendent role on construction projects
- 5-8 years construction experience
- OSHA 30 hour certified
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, safety and site operations software, and construction management software
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction-documenting and drawing, with knowledge of all phases of construction
- Knowledge in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, cost control and forecasting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 2-5 years of experience in a superintendent role on construction projects, with 5-8 years overall construction experience

- Strong labor relations with union and non-union engagement
