The Seafood Order Writer at Whole Foods Market is responsible for ordering, replenishing, and merchandising seafood products, participating in company programs for purchasing and promotions, and monitoring inventory control. This role supports financial profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Replenishes products through proper buying procedures
- Orders seafood products and maintains appropriate back stock levels
- Monitors and acts upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner
- Controls spoilage/shrink and achieves turn goals
- Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
- Oversees customer special order procedure
- Analyzes and controls product transfers, waste, and spoilage
- Supports leadership in conducting inventories
- Maintains financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets
- Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers, and models suggestive selling techniques
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products
- Strong basic math skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in wet and cold environment
- Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
Qualifications
- 12+ months retail experience.
