Science Teacher

About This Role

The Science Teacher will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment to guide and encourage students to develop their academic potential. This role involves designing and delivering lesson plans, managing student behavior, and monitoring academic progress to ensure student success. The teacher will also maintain accurate student records and communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
• Model and instill a love of learning in students
• Design and implement appropriate instruction of assigned content area(s) in accordance with school standards, curriculum, and student needs
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize student engagement and learning
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual needs of students Reflecting diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Conduct tutoring sessions to meet all students ニーズ
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and utilize information to adjust teaching strategies
• Attend department, school, district, and parent meetings
• Participate in district and campus staff development and serve on staff committees
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
• Prepare required reports on students and activities
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members
• Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to use effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone
• Ability to analyze data
