Science Teacher

About This Role

Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment to guide and encourage science students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
• Model and instill a love of learning in students
• Design and implement appropriate instruction of assigned content area(s) in accordance with school standards, curriculum, and student needs
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize student engagement and learning
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Conduct tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with school rules and disciplinary systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to use computer including software, database, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone
• Ability to analyze data
