This role is for a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist in New Orleans, LA, focused on helping middle school students reach their full potential. The position involves conducting comprehensive assessments, implementing evidence-based therapies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support children and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations.
• Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results.
• Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution
• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or license eligible
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP)
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
