Scalehouse Operator

About This Role

The Scalehouse Operator is rеsponsible for accurately weighing trucks, managing customer billing information, and ensuring environmental compliance tasks at a landfill or transfer station.

Responsibilities

• Weigh in and out all trucks entering the landfill or transfer station
• Set up new trucks and issue truck permits
• Provide accurate and efficient information for customer billing and generate reports
• Verify accuracy of hauls and disposal for third-party truck hauling payments
• Dispatch proper instructions regarding disposal of special waste to operators and Operations Manager
• Keep landfill management apprised of community information regarding the landfill
• Test the scales daily for accuracy
• Ensure the accuracy of waste disposed of in proper areas (grid reports)
• Account for various environmental compliance tasks

Requirements

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training.
