SBA Business Development Associate

About This Role

This role involves supporting SBA loan programs by coordinating loan applications and providing complete packages to the SBA credit department. The associate will work closely with SBA Management and Business Development Officers (BDOs) to onboard new loan opportunities and ensure compliance with bank regulations.

Responsibilities

• Gather a list of items needed to complete an assessment of the credit worthiness and SBA eligibility of loan requests using the SPARK processing system
• Work with BDOs to ensure information is obtained/received for a complete loan submission
• Run required reports for loan submission including Credit, CAIVRS, OFAC, and Clear
• Validate Submission Checklist for borrower folder contents and certify all items have been received
• Address obvious credit issues in the file and assist the BDO in preparing the Loan Summary
• Submit a complete and accurate loan application package for review to the SBA Production Specialist
• Facilitate transfer of information (written and verbal) between multiple groups
• Oversee multiple transactions concurrently to ensure all active loan applications are moving forward
• Maintain compliance with all bank regulations and stay up to date on changes
• Maintain working knowledge of policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Bank Security

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of customer service experience or relevant work experience in the financial services
• Microsoft Office suite required
• Strong Excel skills
• Accurate keyboard, spelling and grammar skills
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Ability to set priorities, manage tasks, and meet deadlines
