This Safety Coordinator role supports day-to-day safety operations on construction sites, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position involves conducting audits, providing training, and implementing hands-on safety initiatives to support field personnel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture on active project sites with 100+ employees
- Work closely with the Director of Safety and on-site leadership to implement safety processes and initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations
- Conduct regular jobsite audits to verify compliance and reinforce safety expectations
- Serve as a trusted safety resource for all personnel
- Maintain accurate safety records for site personnel
- Coordinate with internal departments to manage safety equipment and supplies
- Ensure safety binders, permit packets, and policies are current, complete, and accessible
- Maintain records and oversee inspection/maintenance of gas monitoring equipment
- Ensure all new-hire and annual safety training is completed and properly documented
- Assist with industrial hygiene testing, safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and hands-on field training
- Mentor and support field personnel on safety best practices
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and other applicable safety regulations
- Understanding of workers’ compensation, emergency response procedures, first aid, CPR, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize competing tasks
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
