The Safety Analyst will continuously improve safety, quality, and financial performance by monitoring and ensuring safe work environments for personnel. This role involves collecting, organizing, and interpreting information to identify details, draw conclusions, and propose solutions or strategies.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, research, and analyze all new customer requests
- Request and maintain records of new customer approval and manual codes from governing agencies
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data system
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Provide safety leadership and support in an assigned region
- Investigate any safety loss-related incidents and prepare detailed reports
- Administer job safety program audits and inspect job sites to detect and correct hazards
- Work with outside agencies (e.g. federal, state, local law enforcement, OSHA) as necessary
- Assist in development and implementation of safety training program for all associates
- Partner with management team to ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Develop partnerships with regional, district and national management for effective knowledge of regional loss activities
- Review reported incidents and prepare corrective action plans
- Ensure timely entry, follow-up and completion regarding all cases
- Develop, implement, and monitor facility safety programs including employee safety and OSHA compliance in partnership with the risk management team
Requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience within an analytical role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with others
- Ability to work with other team members as well as independently
- Ability to remember and locate information (e.g. policies, procedures)
- Ability to shift back and forth between two or more tasks
- Cooperative, team-oriented, patient, calm under pressure
- Ability to make competent use of work related equipment and materials
- Ability to arrange things in certain order (e.g. alphabetically, numerically)
- Ability to produce results within an autonomous environment, within company guidelines and have the flexibility to identify and respond to changes in priorities
- Ability to demonstrate success working in a fast-paced, highly competitive, deadline oriented environment
- Self- motivated with exhibited sense of urgency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in work experience required.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience within an analytical role.
