About This Role

Provide competent clinical nursing care adhering to professional standards, coordinating patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting, and contributing to the health and well-being of the community.

Responsibilities

• Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs, attending education programs, and utilizing patient education materials relevant to the patient population
• Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance in revising the plan of care
• Participate in discussions with the interdisciplinary team in evaluating patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care
• Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan
• Utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs
• Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs
• Collaborate with patients/families to prepare or update the plan of care, using multidisciplinary resources
• Read journals with studies or articles applicable to practice and bring ideas for assessment of applicability

Requirements

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
• One (1) year of nursing experience
