Clinical Nurse I - New Graduate

About This Role

Provide competent clinical nursing care to patients in a hospital setting, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to professional standards. The role involves coordinating care, identifying and meeting patient learning needs, and participating in an inclusive healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attend education programs
• Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population and assess readiness to learn
• Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs
• Collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care using multidisciplinary resources
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues or unusual teaching needs
• Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities

Requirements

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
• No prior experience required
